The Castle Hill PCYC was established in 1975 and from that date the club has grown, now catering for over 55,000 activity participants each year. This Branch plays a vital role within the Townsville community through its provision of a broad range of sporting, recreational, cultural, welfare and educational activities to meet the needs of the surrounding community.

The Association offers a wide variety of affordable high quality activities for all members of the community and provides a unique link between the Queensland Police service and young people. The PCYC Branches provide a range of sporting, cultural, educational, welfare and crime-prevention services for young people, benefiting many members and the community at large. The program of activities conducted at each club varies according to the local needs, club facilities, resources and community support. Childcare/development plays an intrinsic role in the majority of clubs with quality Out Of School Hours Care [OHSC] programs being facilitated. The organisations focus placed upon broadening children's/young peoples experiences/knowledge and skill development.
